In spite of the rain everyone had an entertaining vist and learned a considerable amount about the production of gin. The Botanicals Room proved fascinating with the opportunity to sample the aromas of the different constituents that can be added to give the gin its unique flavour. Juniper by law is required to be the main constiuent of the mix, but as usual the formula is a secret but unlike many places the recipe at Bombay Sapphire is in the memory of three people at any one time. Just in case!!!
The visit finished, very sensibly, with a gin based cocktail recommended on the basis of the botanicals that each individual preferred.
